Resistor part numbers under Industrial Type Designation

  An example: EB5145.
RC20 514 J

rating
(watts at 70 C degree)
resistance tolerance
1 2 3

1.  Rating (watts at 70 C degree)

  • BB = 1/8 watt
  • CB = 1/4 watt
  • EB = 1/2 watt
  • GB = 1 watt
  • HB = 2 watt

2.  Resistance value: First two digits are significant. The last digit indicates the number of zeros to follow, except below 10 ohms:

  • 101 = 10 with 1 zero = 100 Ohm
  • 102 = 10 with 2 zeros = 1000 Ohm
  • 27G = decimal point 2.7 Ohm

The letter "G" is substituted in place of the third digit. The desired resistance value is then the first two digits multiplied by 0.1.

3.  Resistance tolerance:

  • 5 = ± 5 %
  • 1 = ± 10 %
  • 2 = ± 20 %
