Vishay/Sprague Type 150D series solid electrolyte tantalum capacitors have been a preferred choice in circuit design for over 4 decades. Their performance and reliability have been proven in commercial, industrial and military applications. One reason that this series continues to be used in so many designs is that the series can be used in almost any type of environment. The hermetically sealed metal case enables it to unaffected by outside influences.
It has a wide capability range with values as low as .0047mfd up to as high as 330mfd. The voltages offered for this series start at 6vdc and go up to 125vdc. It has standard tolerances of 5%, 10% and 20% and has an operating temperature range of -55°C up to +125°C( above 85°C voltage derating is required). The military equivalent of the 150D is the M39003/01 (CSR13 Type) which is qualified to the MIL-PRF-39003/01.
Over the years the 150D series has seen quite a few of its competitors fail in their efforts to replace the Vishay/ Sprague series in application designs.
Competitors such as:
The continued success of the 150 series can be attributed to its quality, reliability and cost.
In today’s fast paced and constantly changing electronic component industry it’s good to know that there are some things that you can always rely on to perform without fail and the Vishay/ Sprague 150D series and one of the few parts that continues to stand the test of time. When you need a reliable and effective capacitor for your job the type 150D series has proven time after time to be that choice.
